Lisboa Innovation takes startups to the global stage
Lisboa aims to support and foster the city’s innovation ecosystem by ensuring the free participation of Lisboa’s startups in international programs, propelling the city’s startups onto the global stage. Participation on the following program includes free entries for the team, exhibitor presence, and networking opportunities at one or more of the following events:
Who can participate?
Applicants must be startups based in Lisboa that focus on technology with innovative products or services.
Eligibility conditions
- To apply, startups must be previously registered in the Lisboa Innovation dashboard in Dealroom.
- Applicants must be entities based in Lisboa and founded in the last ten years.
- Startups must be independent and not a subsidiary of a larger organisation.
- Startups must not have revenues or raised investments exceeding one million dollars for the ALPHA category, three million dollars for the BETA category, and should have more than five million dollars for the GROWTH program, taking into account that each category must be confirmed by the Web Summit team.
- Consultancies, agencies, developers, marketing/advertising agencies, and public companies are not eligible to apply.
- People related to the promoters or partners of the initiative are excluded.
Selection criteria
- The selection criteria include the startup’s innovative capacity, the team’s motivation to participate, and the importance of the programs for its development.
- Priority is given to startups that are part of Lisboa’s innovation hubs (incubators, coworking spaces, etc.).
- Priority is also given to startups new to Web Summit, applied in tiebreaker situations.
How to apply?
- The application process consists of correctly filling out the application form and providing all the required data.
- The first step involves submitting the following application form before 23:59 of January 5th for Web Summit Qatar; February 28th for Web Summit Rio de Janeiro and March 27th for Web Summit Vancouver). After the initial validation, the candidates will also be evaluated by the Web Summit team.
- The organisation reserves the right to extend the application period or open a new call at any time.
Evaluation
The startups will be evaluated after the application period, and the selection will be carried out by a team formed by elements of Lisboa Innovation and the Web Summit team, according to the criteria referred to in Article 3 and 4.
Privacy Policy
All data submitted is managed by Lisboa Innovation and shared with Web Summit. Data compiled via this initiative will be used exclusively for Web Summit related events.
Amendments to this guide
The organisation reserves the right, at any time, to change any clause of the present document, giving notice of such changes in the locations where it is available.
