“It is with commitment that we return to the collaboration that has guided the relationship between Startup Portugal and Lisboa Unicorn Capital, joining forces to represent the city and the country in a complete and inspiring way at the Web Summit. The involvement of the entire community enhances this partnership and highlights the vitality of Lisboa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, while reflecting a shared vision of an innovative future. By working together, we create a legacy of creativity and innovation that will echo across borders.” – Margarida Figueiredo, Lisboa City Council’s Director of Economy and Innovation.
A Matchmaking tool has also been developed to connect startups, investors and ecosystem players eager to explore the opportunities of Lisboa and Portugal, in order to simplify their networking, find investments and expand connections during the Web Summit.
“The Web Summit is a great opportunity for us to build bridges and promote the country and the city as world-class entrepreneurial ecosystems. With the Innovation Tracks, a new initiative that Startup Portugal is launching this year in partnership with Lisboa City Council and 351, we welcome and take the international delegations visiting us to meet local entrepreneurs and agents before the conference begins, creating contacts and relationships that can then be strengthened during the following days and bear fruit after the Web Summit.” – António Dias Martins, Executive Director of Startup Portugal.
This joint presence will also materialize in a stand with four corners dedicated to the needs of the ecosystem (landing, scaling, funding, innovating), during the Web Summit, with a comprehensive agenda of events that will provide an environment conducive to the connection between startups, investors and local companies and the entities that support the attraction of talent and investment to Portugal and Lisboa.
The collaboration between Startup Portugal, Lisboa Unicorn Capital / Lisboa City Council demonstrates Portugal’s continued commitment to supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem and attracting international talent to the country.
