The “Lisboa Employment Map,” developed by the Municipal Directorate of Economy and Innovation of the Lisboa City Council – Future of Work initiative, in partnership with the myMentor platform, won in the Qualifications category at the Future Cities & Territories Awards, promoted by the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications, APDC.
Covering the categories of Health and Well-being, Equality and Inclusion, Mobility and Logistics, Qualifications, Citizen Engagement and Participation, Economic Development and Sustainability, Circular Economy, and Decarbonization, a winning project was distinguished in each of the seven competition categories, with three honorable mentions awarded.
The digital tool, now distinguished and launched on March 21, 2024, is useful for illustrating the employment landscape of the city of Lisboa. Which professional areas show the highest employability? What trends are emerging in the capital’s labor market? What training and professional development opportunities are available, and which are the most sought after?
The Lisboa Employment Map – and its resulting strategic information – not only portrays the supply and demand of the labor market in the capital but also proves to be an important contribution to empowering organizations and individuals in facing emerging challenges. It provides support to employers with skills suited to the future of work and strengthens the focus on upskilling and reskilling, accelerating the response to the technological transformations in the labor market.
For Isabel Advirta, who represented the CML at the award ceremony, “the Employment Map is very useful for companies looking for talent for their human resources, and it is also an asset for those who want to perfect or acquire new skills. By partnering with Better Future on this project, the Lisboa City Council became the first municipality in the country to have a tool that helps create a detailed picture of the labor market in the municipality.”
The award ceremony took place yesterday, May 14, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Lisboa.
